What is Feldenkrais?
The Feldenkrais Method® helps you to change your unconscious movement patterns so you can move with more ease, confidence and lightness. Everyone can participate in a Feldenkrais lesson. Each lesson is structured to create the ideal conditions for learning by using small, gentle movements that restore function and an overall sense of well-being.
Awareness through Movement® (ATM) and Functional Integration® (FI) are both processes of The Feldenkrais Method. In ATM the students follow the teacher’s verbal cues. FI is a one-on-one personalized movement lesson in which the teacher gently guides the student by using verbal cues, as well as gentle non-invasive touch.
“Nothing is permanent about our behavior patterns except our belief that they are so.”
As an ATM teacher, I delight in your ability to find movement solutions that translate into a sense of freedom and greater capacity in all aspects of your life. As with coaching, I hold my Feldenkrais students as creative, resourceful and whole. And like coaching, I simply guide. The fruits of your efforts belong to you.
I’ve been a student of the Feldenkrais Method since 1982, and a teacher since 2011. I am certified by the Feldenkrais Guild of North America.
For me, doing Feldenkrais feels like coming home. For my students…
If you have questions about Awareness Through Movement or you would like to have a conversation about including Feldenkrais into your coaching or workplace health and wellness program, drop me a note.
